Default Tuning an A4 on a dyno

When tuning an A4 on a dyno, do you lock up the TC in third?

Sorry for a stupid question but, I've never tuned an auto before on a dyno so I need to know where to lock her up. TIA.

    Hi John,

Usually they hold 3rd gear and lock the TCC...

    In the scantool:
    - goto the DVT tab,
    - select your controller (e.g. Gen III 99-08 LS1),
    - press the Activate button,
    - goto the Auto Transmission subtab,

Place a checkmark in the box for each of these:
    - Activate Transmission Gear Control,
    - 1999+ TCC Enable Solenoid (use 1998 if you have a 1998),
    - 1999+ TCC Control Solenoid (use 1998 if you have a 1998),

    Then press these buttons:
    - Hold 3rd,
    - TCC Enable Solenoid Turn On (the one for 1998 if you have a 1998),
    - TCC Control Solenoid 100% (or Turn On if you have a 1998).

If you goto the dash tab, and if you are logging GEAR and TCCMODE you should see 3rd gear and TCC locked.
