Default LAPTOP: How slow can you go?

I tried using a 266MHz P-II with 128MB ram and to my surprise the system worked pretty well. I was able to edit and flash with no apparent problems. Where I did find a problem was in logging. It couldn't keep up with the minimum PID selection for AutoVE. So I have dumped it for a faster machine. YMMV, but you should look at getting the minimum recommended 500MHz and at least 256MB RAM.

We actually test the software on a set of 3 233MHz Toshiba Satellite Pro 480CDT's. One running win98, two running win2K with different screen resolutions.

As you say everything works ok except the logging - since that is a real time function. (You know the scan tool was more difficult to design and build than the tuning tool, for that reason.)

If you view the [OBDII (F7)] tab page while logging it *should* keep up no problem. Try displaying the Ctrl+Y logging profile window to see if it stays at 10 fps +/- 1.0

    Regards
