    Default found restriction to be my air filter

    I went and raced this past weekend for pinks all out at No Problem Raceway. I did not get picked but had one hell of a time.

    I did get quicker while there though.

    I was looking over my log and noticed that my kpa was going down to 94 at wot. I took off my air filter which is 6x6 cone with the front end open with an inverted cone. I replaced it with a 4x6 rubber hose coupling to act as a funnel and catch the air (ram air) and the kpa on the map went up to 99

    my times at 94 kpa was a best of 10.92 at 120.96 1.55 60 ft
    my times at 99 kpa was on Rich's arm drop and I did not get a slip but my nephew recorded the video and it went 10.80 at 122.xx mph


    I dont know what 60 ft was on the 10.80 pass but it is a consistent 1.55 car.

    I know there is more restriction with the stock maf and stock tb un ported into my truck intake. Not bad for my 2nd trip to the track and lots of problems the first trip. The car was trouble free all weekend.

    Low 10's coming soon.

    I know this may need to get moved to the racers lounge but i put it here for others that might not know to look at Kpa to see if there is a restriction in there intake tract.

    Nice trap speed.
    Elevation can limit MAP,
    I can only hit 90kPa+ at lower alt.
    Mile high + 91 octane =

    This is in my 64 Nova with a 347 ls1 in it. I forgot to mention that before and I dont show it yet in my sig. 2730 lbs with me in it. full race setup.

    Looking for low 10's after a little more tweaking.

    I know how you feel. 96 kpa here key on engine off.
    FWIW our season started on sunday with a nice & hot 41 deg C day. After 3 runs I just packed up as it was a complete waste of Nitrous.

    You can only get 91 in AZ...? Bummer, that sux...

    My throttle body is still a restriction . Its a marine throttle body that is the same size from the blade forward. I have to get a ls1 cable as the one I have is a universal cable and it only works with my marine tb.

    I have a ported ls1 tb that will work much better once I get the lokar ls1 cable.

    I am just chipping away at it. i will try to get it to 10.2's and leave it there.
