Default Can EFI Live disable the VVT in an '08 E38?

I have a customer with a combination of an LS7 and a 4L80E transmission. The wiring is not a problem. The programming has been a big PITA!

The closest file I can get to is an Express van 6.0L with a 4L80E transmission. Problem is, the VVT. the LS7 doesn't have it, so we are trying to just shut it off. Can it be done?

Thanks for any help or thoughts.

It does make it tough when there is no factory combo to base a tune from.
Yes we could shut the VVT off, but I am not sure this is going to solve all your problems, it might be the start of many more.

    Cheers,
    Ross

Ah, always thinking Diesel you Duramax guys
VVT = Variable Vane Turbo, also means Variable Valve Timing for the gas engines.

It MAY be the start of many more, but I'd like to be able to find out for sure.

Well, if you look in the software you can see there is the option to disable the VVT in a number of ways, the problem is that there is no E38 LS7 Auto file from GM.
You would need to start with a factory combo like a 2007 6.0L (E38) and matching 4L80E T42. It would be far less work to retune the 6.0L engine cal to suit the LS7 that go down any other path.

    Cheers,
    Ross

isnt the 4L80E just a beefed up 4L65E... if so why not start off with a Holden tune from a VZ Series 2 which is a L76 6.0L and 4L65E (so E38 and T42)..
    ---------------------------
    E38's got to love them
    E40's hate 'em

LS1's is there anything it wont work on

No the 4L80E is a different design... you need a 4L80E trans segment from a compatible file.

cpwire also contacted us via Email, best best would be to run an E38 with a Express Van TCM tune (T42, 4L80E).
