    Default licence ??

    hey all i am looking @ a v1 or v2 but got a few ?? when do i use the vin# licence as soon as i plug it in? data logging or just programing the pcm?

    Just when you go to reprogram a new, unlicensed (at least on your FlashScan unit) controller. You can data log and read tunes from unlimited supported vehicles for free.

    Welcome to the forum...

    Exactly what Erik said, a license is used up only when flashing a PCM/ECM/TCM for the first time.

    The license attaches to the controller... 1 license attaches to 1 PCM or to an ECM/TCM pair.

    The 1997/1998 LS1 Y-car/F-car PCM's are free, no license required for flashing those.

    Reading the flash and scanning/logging does not use any licenses.
