Default Which TPS is the right one?

I am logging an E38/T42 combo, working on shift points. I am logging four PIDs:

    PCM, TAC_PCT
    PCM, ETCTP
    PCM, APP
    TCM, ACCEP

Does anyone have a clue as to which one is used by the TCM to determine part-throttle shift points?

See attached screen shot, showing the differences.

The only assumption I'd like to make is that there is only one accelerator pedal / throttle position in the TCM

ACCEP [1] Accelerator Effective Position (%)

Is that what the TCM uses?

Seems logical, just curious what y'all think.

    Default

    I normally use

    ECM, ETCTP

But I normally log a manual.

I've had a look at a T42 and found that

    TCM, ACCEP

Appears to the same, it's just data being read from the TCM instead of the ECM. So I guess it's a choice at the time of logging, but given ACCEP comes from the TCM, it's probably the one to log.

You have listed the PIDs as they would be used in BBL, so I'm guessing that's what you are asking about. In this case, you can use either, or even both, as BBL allows for logging PIDs from 2 controllers as the same time. If you want to log directly to the laptop, it's a bit different though as you can't log 2 controllers. In this case if you are working on the TCM, then log ACCEP as it come directly from the TCM.

    Simon.
