    Default CKP (CASE) Relearn Question

Using the latest build of EFILive and Flashscan V1.

Been trying to do the CKP relearn as I have the P1336 code after having to do a full reflash. I currently only have a MAF DTC code. I follow the procedure for conducting the CKP relearn:

Wait until the motor reaches 65C, engage parking break, and press brake pedal. (I have M6 2001 WS6)

I connect via DVT in the scan tool. I press "Activate" and it turns green. I go to the "learn" tab, after depressing the brake pedal, I click the CASE button, and nothing happens. Will there be a screen that pops up? Or do i just need to start revving the motor? I remember before it would actually have a popup screen, but not sure about the newer version?

Can anyone shed any light if there should be a notification when you press the CASE button when it works or not?

Also, will the CASE not work if I have that DTC? If so, how would I bi-pass it because I am not tuned AT ALL for a MAF to be plugged in....

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thanks,
    Adrian

    Adrian,

Do you press down the throttle pedal to bring the engine rpm to above 4000...?

CASE relearn should still work when MAF DTC's are present.

Which scantool build version do you have (go Help->About)...?

I actually haven't just hit the throttle yet, as I'm not sure if hitting the CASE button is starting anything or not. There is no countdown/notification that the CASE relearn procedure was started, so I didn't want to do something in case it wasn't working properly. I suppose I will just hit the throttle and see if something happens haha.

    Build version: V7.5.5 Build 83

    Best,

This is somethig that was going to be fixed in this latest release. Haven't had a chance to download to my laptop yet and try it out.

YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T
MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE
    DUCT TAPE.
IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU'VE GOT AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.

you hit the CASE relearn button, it says OK, hit the throttle, it will then cut the fuel right after 4000rpm, let it go back to an idle, and its done.

i did that and thought "it cant be that simple" So I tried to initiate it again and got the message "CASE relearn already completed successfully this power up" So I took that as a win, and went about my business. I haven't had any DTC's so it must be OK.
