    Default ECM unknown status

    I have a 2005 Hummer H2 6.0
My EFI Live says that ECM is unknown. Can anybody help me?

    I have updated to V7.5.5

    Hi J_Martin,

    Welcome to the forum...

Does this happen when you try to read the ECM using the tunetool...?

Does the scantool connect at all (you have to select the controller type)...?

    Can you post some screenshots...?

When I try to read the ECM and check status it says unknown.

The scan tool will not connect.

Does your Hummer run? Can you connect successfully to another vehicle?

What controller are you attempting to use to read it with? If you do not select the proper controller in the read pane it wont let you read it, the bootloader will not be correct.

You need to select LS1 99-08 for your H2.

Also once you download 7.5.5 from the main page you need to run the "Check for Updates" program inside the EFILive V7.5 folder in the start menu. Latest build is 84.

Man, it always ends up being something small...
I've panicked a couple of time's too when I get the "ECM in unknown State" but for me it always has something to do with the power to the OBD2 port, power get's interrupted, or aftermarket stereo's and accessories...
Glad you got it figured out
