Default P0601 "Control Module Read Only Memory (ROM)"

Hello and thanks for the help so far! I have the RR working but I have this P0601 hard code that keeps the check engine light on. I know how to get rid of it, but I wanted to know if this is a quirk with the RR ECM or if there is a problem with the ECM I have.

    Thanks!

Mark, it sort of rings a bell as a common issue with the RR ECM in the Duramax, but honestly I don't remember. Is it causing any problems apart from the annoying MIL?

    Cheers,
    Ross

Not that I can tell. I will change it to not reported and see how it goes.

I have a feeling it's because it cannot save any learn data back to the flash memory on shutdown as a normal ECM would, but as the Road Runner does not have real flash memory it will never be able to do it, hence the DTC sets.

I have had my RR for over 3 years.

That code is always present, no matter what.

Just shut the MIL down and ignore it.
