I wonder if M$ are starting to get worried about these 'free' OS's and applications that seem to be popping up everywhere now.
As a recent Ubuntu / Open Office convert I must say if I was running a company with 100's of computers this would be the path I would take, not buying 100's of Win/Office licenses.

    Cheers,
    Ross

There is no such thing as free with a company as large as Google,
    there will be a price.

Ask yourself, "how could they afford to stay in business with a
product that they will not charge for?"

Just think of all the data they have compiled on everyone using the net.

Yep , but to many are afraid of Linux still , or Micro$oft .

Ad revenue , I think , that is what they sell now .
    I really would like to see a strong 3rd alternative , Micro$oft , Mac Intelosh , and a good Linux .
Someone has to take on Bill and company , that is large enough and deep enough pockets to do some shaking up of the Computer Community .

Ubuntu + OpenOffice.org is a power combo, honestly yes Microsofts Office suite is better and more refined but fo FREE? Ubuntu blows it out of the water, just some drivers are slower coming than with Windows. But I run it on my laptop with Vista and W7 RC1, honestly I havent booted into either Ubuntu or Vista in about a month because W7 is stable. Dare I say something Microsoft made is stable, about to knock on wood here now.

Ill "buy" it, as in go to Microsoft and buy it direct for like 50 bucks haha. Did it with XP, Vista, and now W7. Helps to have friends who work there and live 30min from you!
