hey guys i am a newby and would like some info on a v2 scanner on the efi live web site it says i can buy the scanner plus tune for 799.00 or i can buy the scanner for only 399.00 My question is if i have a friend with alot of tunes on his laptop can i just buy the 399.00 one and use his tunes that he bought ?

the scanner won't load tunes, so you'll need the tuner to be able to load the tunes into your truck.

The scanner will only do scanning options. To upload tunes you need the full setup. EFILive does not provide tunes if you are thinking that is what it means. You will want your own full tuner so you can license it to your truck ECM and TCM. I would goto to say Nick from www.duramaxtuner.com . He sells the Flashscan II and provides two free tunes as to what you want. There are others that offer services like that. Might check out www.dieselplace.com and www.duramaxdiesels.com forum sites for some good info.
