Default 40 Degrees max timming, i want more

guys, playing around with my car (OS 12225074) and seem to find that when i log the timming values the max timming is 40 degrees. even if i have say 44 deg in both my high and low oct table

cant seem to find a way to increase this.

does the factory limit this to 40 deg

anyone found a way to overcome this?

Make sure on your scan tool that your max value is above 40 degrees.

I had a similar problem. I just changed the Scan Max Value to 45.

    tried that,
set the max value to 50, and set the gauge to 50 but still only goes to 40 degrees.

    any other suggestions

I noticed that my spark advance gauge would only hit 40* and flash red today.
Check the alarms tab in the gauge properties for min/max settings.
Is your log showing SA values higher than 40* or is it limited to 40* too?

I have tried getting over 40 before while playing around with lean cruise and had no luck, it seams there’s a max timing value hidden somewhere.

When I was trying to get over 40deg I had been tuning the spark table with bi directional controls, my log was showing that I could go over 40 with bi directional but it would max out at 40 if I tried to run it above that from the tune file, so there must be a limiting factor in the PCM somewhere, unless you try and talk nicely to Paul 40deg is going to be your limit.
