I have had that trouble on and off for 2 years with P1626. Recently I had put may very best racing tune on my 98 vette. When getting on to the strip to race, the burnout goes well and then when I really womp on it, the car cuts out totally in first or second gear and one time shifting into 3rd. This is the first time I have noticed the P1626 (it may have been there before also when racing) I will turn off this as suggested. I had a built 346 a few years back and it did occasionally happen The motor would stop for no apparent reason.
Now with my 427ci, the motor does this when I really womp on it, and the code 1626 comes up. Do you think it is possible that the violent launch could cause this and has some type of time delay built in or that the PCM send info faster than the BCM can compute? Did disabling P1626 fix the problem? If I take off smooth and stay above the 11.5 sec and above the car does not do that in general. ALso what sensors make THIS P1626 CODE GO OFF.
I want security even at the track but maybe that is not possible. It would be nice to know what causes this DTC. The main thing is that if I put a very aggresive tranny tune into the tune mix seems to make the problem motor stall and P1626 happen 100% now. I wonder if this is on a timer or G force related any help and explanation would be appreciated. I have a grudge match at a test and tune track this friday and would like to be able to use use my best efforts.
