Default DBW pedal and TAC module differences

I posted this on LS1tech also, but ive never gotten any responses in any thread Ive posted over there...everyone here is much more helpful.

Ok so Im piecing together my setup thats going in my offroad buggy.

99 4.8 mated to a TH400 (used the spacer etc..)

I converted it to drive by wire.

Im not sure what year the [truck/SUV] harness is from. It has RVC (regulated voltage control, the "smart" alternator control module) so that means it has to be at least a 2005, and at the most a 2007 because its an LS1-style harness (GMT-800). I might take the part number to the GM dealer and see if they can look up what applications it was used in.

I bought a TAC module and pedal assembly from a 2005.

I know they switched to the new style pedal in 2006, and I would assume a new TAC module too?

Heres where I get confused...im looking at the GM service manuals and it seems that from 2003-2004 the pedal had 3 sensors. Then in 2005 it went to 2 sensors (but still the old style pedal assembly with the external springs and pivoting pedal etc), and then in 2006 they went to the completely new pedal assembly (which also has 2 sensors).

I know the TAC module will care what kinda pedal its talking to, but does the PCM care what TAC module its talking to, as long as the PCM is an 03-07 and the TAC module is an 03-07???

Why im asking is because I want to run a manual trans OS in the PCM because im running a TH400. But the only manual 4.8 OS I can find (in EFILive format) is from a 2004...which supposedly has the 3 sensor accellerator pedal assy,

If I use the 2004 PCM is it going to care that its talking to a newer 2005 TAC module [that only monitors 2 accellerator pedal sensors instead of 3]??????

Im guessing it wont matter....because ive looked at the schematics from 2003-2007 TAC modules, and the PCM <---> TAC wiring is identical. Only difference is the TAC <---> pedal wiring itself on the 2003-2004, 2005, and 2006-2007 trucks.

I suppose I could just go ahead and try it, but I just thought I would check to see if anyone knew the answer for sure...

    thanks

The newer ones dont use a tac module. I dont remember using on on the last two swaps I done with 07+ motors and harness's and dbw.

yeah I know the E38, E40, etc.. dont use TAC modules.

Im talking about LS1 style ECM's, which were used up until early 2007 on the GMT-800 trucks.

I got it all working. 2004 OS and PCM, with a 2005 TAC module and 2005 2-pot pedal assembly. The PCM doesnt seem to care, no codes or anything, works perfectly. (even tho stock 2004 apps had a TAC/pedal assembly setup for 3-pots, and 05+ only had 2-pots in the pedal assembly)
