    Default Can my 1Mb 2005 LS1b get a LS2 OS?

I would like to be able to flash the 2005 LS2 OS onto my 2005 LS1b(out of escalade). Both are 1MB PCMs. Is it possible to do this without changing the wiring harness? sorry if this is a ridiculous question.

    2005 LS1b OS: 12592618 CAL:12593448

    2005 OS: 12605740 Cal:12598982

Hi, this isnt possible as the ECMs are physically different hardware (and PCM vs ECM) so you would have to switch harnesses (and add a TCM). Just properly configure the current ECM/PCM in the vehicle and you'll be fine.

Why are you trying to use an LS2 OS (from an E40)? Need more info on the question to really provide a concrete answer.

++1 what Erik said, the E40 file is not compatible with the LS1B/411 PCM.

You would have to copy (tediously) the E40 LS2 tables over to your LS1B file (they are almost all have the same layout/axes/dimension, just different values).

Thanks to both of you for responding. I guess I am more comfortable with the tables that are available with the e40, especially fuel tables. I already have a TCM as the escalade had DBW. (Transplanted it and M6 into 69 cutlass).

I was hoping I could flash the e40 Operating system into my LS1b, and then copy (agreed tediously) my applicable tables into the e40 tables, and then just tune the e40 tables that are "new". But if the wire harness would have to be changed then I have no desire to get that deep as I am just now getting it rolling.

Thanks again for the input, hope this helps someone in the future.

The LS1B PCM is pretty similar to the E40, the E40 was GM's stopgap to get the Gen IV LSx engines out before they released the E38/E67s.

(btw you're the first person Ive ever heard say they'd rather tune an E40 over LS1B!)

Follow WeatherManShawn's tutorial for Calc.VET and you'll be able to dial your LS1B in pretty quickly.

Well, I've never tuned an E40, so maybe I'd change my mind quickly. Thanks too for pointing out WaethermanShawn's tutorial.

E40s are much faster and can deal better with a cam and surging...
