Default 97 PCM "Bad bin file format"?

    Have a 97 C5 402ci heads,cam etc running a unichip at present.

Operating system is on supported list but when I try to read the pcm right at the end of the read it comes up with a error message saying bad bin file format.

PCM corrupt or Efi Live issue?

only a handfull of these cars in the country so I cant lay my hands on another one to check in a hurry.

Do you have the 'latest' updates? -
    http://www.efilive.com/downloads/downloads_730.html

Have you removed the 1998 PCM .txt files from the calibrations directory?.

    Cheers,
    Ross

Are you able to save the *.tun file?
If so please save it and send it to paul@efilive.com
It may be the "missing 97 PCM" we have been searching for.

    Nope cant save i
After the error comes up nothing further happens. Might possibly have another PCM lurking somewhere to try.
Have thought of getting a another std tune and flashing it in dont know if that will work though.

Please keep that PCM "as is" if you can. The operating system inside it is one we have not "seen" before - that is why it is complaining. I will change the software to allow you to save the file. Hopefully I can send you a new version of the software in the next day or so.
Once we can get our hands on a copy of the contents of thet PCM we should be able to provide support for it.

I had the same problem with my friends 97. I updated all the cal files. Efilive recongized his 97 pcm as 19980400 cal. Apparently that is the column lock operating system. Might want to try that.

Oh yes, I had completely forgotten to ask - are you using the latest set of *.cal files dated October 04 2005, version 7.7?

Also, are you using the latest software V7.3 release 010?
You can check in the Help->About menu, you should see the following version numbers (or higher):

    Tuning Tool V7.3.0 (Build 300)

    Scan Tool V7.3.0 (Build 296)
    obdiiV7.dll: V7.3.0 (Build 437)
