Default High RPM power loss solved

I was having problems with power loss over 4800 or so RPM in my cammed LQ9 engine. It felt like the engine was being starved for air at those speeds. Since I have a pretty free flowing exhaust (dual 3" to a single 3.5" behind the muffler), decent heads, and an aftermarket cam, I figured the only problem could be the tiny air filter that I have on the engine right now. Well today I decided to do some logs of timing because I felt timing being pulled under heavy acceleration. I saw a lot of spark retard due to engine torque management. Long story short, I disabled the axle torque limiting features and viola! I'm now spinning up to 6K RPM and it just wants to keep going. Now the only type of torque limiting I should have in place is the transmission upshift/downshift torque reduction, which I'm perfectly happy with.
