    I doubt that's the reason... the computers and data lines can process and send the data faster than you can push the button. I suspect it's more programming.

    I agree. Even low speed GMLAN is wayyy fast enough for everything in the truck.

    Considering the speedometer and tach/instrument cluster get all their realtime data over low speed GMLAN (and not a dedicated VSS or tach signal wire), im sure its plenty fast enough to send an instant tap-shift request.

    Adding a delay is because, DUH, this isnt a race car and GM didnt intend people to be using the tap-shift like they would in an automatic-equipped corvette or camaro....

    then email GM, tell them you made your truck as fast as a corvette, and maybe they will send you a TCM calibration that has faster-acting tap-shifting.
