    Default prepping for boost

hey guys, so I'm preparing my truck for going boosted, would anyone mind looking over my tune and see if I missed something, especially the spark tables.

    some specs:
1996 C1500 L31 5.7L, T56 M6, 24x crank sensor conversion, LS2 coils, RHS heads, ZZ4 cam, custom MPFI intake running balanced ford "giant blue" bosch EV6 39# injectors at 43.5 psi (flow tested at 417.4cc/min), TR6 plugs gapped at .040, 180* Tstat, Whipple with stock 6ish psi pulley, air to water intercooler, 75mm TB, regular bolt on stuff (headers, efan, etc), full OLMAF, 2bar MAP...

Thanks guys, I'm somewhat new to the boosted scene and am looking forward joining the boosed crew, heh.

just FYI, the tune is based off a 2002 LS1 camaro tune with some tables taken from a 2005 Z06 LS2 tune, and some of my altered ones from prior to the heads/injectors/24x setup. I'm planning on getting my fueling in line from the heads/injectors prior to installing the whipple.

I know making suggestions on other people's custom setups is not the easiest thing around, but any suggestions would be appreciated.

I did notice that I forgot to alter B3647 in that tune. so I'll be doing that some as well, probably looking at a max value there around ~1.24? but being unfamiliar with the boost/map regions I'm not sure how agressive and where to make the increases (N/A I would typically get to around 85kPa on a max full WOT pull, sometimes I'd just touch the 90kPa column, but the weather would have to be cooperative for that. only seen it a few times and only for like <5 cell count.). I was thinking of starting the increase a little later in the map range (due to the boost), say around 75-80 kPa, and increase agressively from there up to 1.24 along the whole 100kPa column. Thoughts?

    Thanks!

I don't have much knowledge regarding boost or nitrous other than timing has to be pulled and AFR has to be richer.

There should be some stickies at LS1tech.com.

    Bump for you.

was reminded that I had not altered the boost VE table, I'll be doing multiple atuoVE runs so I'll get it durring that, but I still need to do the initial modeling of it. Thanks Jeff. I'll post up another tune later. I'm also going to investigate some more LS2 tunes, my spark dwell times are taken from a 05 vette LS2 tune, (since I'll be running new GM LS2 coils) but I was going to check out some later LS2 tunes to see if they changed things up or not.

What I have done on my s10 was use the stock timing table for boost levels up to 12 psi on my 4.3 anything higher and I will pull timing, in the high load area, but that was before e85 now .. I leave it stock all the way to 16psi.

You can run close to N/A timing with the COS and use the Boost timing table to pull timing in boost.
I like to set up the commaned fueling table up a bit leaner that what you have in the last columb - around 12.2:1 arf then have PE at about where you have it 11.5-11.8, then set PE enabler to MAP of around 120 and lower the TPS PE enabler to around 10% (around 3 psi b00st) will give improved fuel econmy and better transition into boost.
made a few changes for you ...

I forgot about this post for a while, great info guys, thanks alot! as it turns out, I'm just finishing up my final wiring, and I'll start 'er tommorow so you've got great timing. I'm going to take a look at your alterd tune in just a min.

thanks again for the help. I'll post up if I have any questions after checking out the tune.

one question, where did you get those spark tables from?
