Thread: older 4L60E with E38

    Default older 4L60E with E38

    Hey guys, I'm working on a personal project with a 2007 58X engine, E38 controller, 2007 vette wiring harness from an auto and it is bolted to an early 4L60E (95). I would like to use the T42 trans controller however I read alot of people saying that it won't work because of the input speed sensor associated with the 4L70E? I then look at all sorts of wiring harness people that are using the E38 with the 4L60E trans. The set up is in a C4 so the trans is held up by a torque arm that goes to the rear differential. I would like to retain that set up for obvious reasons. Any advice would be great.

    Call Mike@eficonnection.com I am sure he can help you out, he loves this wiring thing problems.

    I don't see why it wouldn't work. Now my question is, why not use an E40?

    e38 and t42 wont work with out the input speed sensor.. the e38 wont like it.

    as for why not use a e40.. e40 = 24x as stated engine is 58x

    E40 24x
    E38 58x
    E67 58x

    well.. time to swap out the reluctor then and get an E40 in there or even an LS1 PCM for that matter. Talk to mike@eficonnection. I am sure he can help you out.

    Actually.. what you can do... is use a converter from 58xto 24x (lingenfelter) and use an older style pcm.

    yep or toughen the box up and manualise it

    ok what about converting to the E67. Is that an answer? Can I then go to the trans module and delete the input speed sensor on the t42 if it has it? Thanks for the help so far.

    Does the 4L65E with T42 use ISS (i.e have the reluctor on the drum shaft?)
