Default Some PIDs read default values and dont update!?

    Hi all,
Im not sure if this is specific to my vehicle or pc or what. But the default Metric PIDs from 7.3 pre rel. 10 mainly work, though ECT, Injector Pulse and some other PIDs read either zero or weird numbers.

If I change the priority or make a new PID selection with less PID's it works fine. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong?

    Thanks

Have you validated the Pid's by chance, they will read unusual figures if not validated.

    Cheers Scotty.
It's a lot easier to ask for forgiveness than it is to ask for permission.

    Yep all validated.
How many should I be able to use concurrently. It seems the default selection doesnt work all together. Do I need to validate each time?
Ill upgrade to r11 and try again.

    Thanks

The general rule on concurrent PIDs actually relates to the number of Channels that they require. To log at 10 frames per second (fps) you need to have your Channel count at 24 or below. You will notice that calculated PIDs don't require channels.

If you use more than 24 channels then the fps rate drops down to 5.

Yep problem was that I was scanning in Dynamic mode, not sure how I get to decide what mode it scans in? Anyway changed all the PIDs to priority 1 after reading that this is what the fast modes do anyway and the scanner told me it was now going to use 10fps mode. Scanned it and all is well.

Is there a way of telling it what mode to use? The see the blackbox device lets you tell it.

Thanks all, this forum is very helpfull.

I've just left the scanner in Async. 10fps mode. it generally drops down when it can not sustain this rate.

Open the Properties window (Alt+Enter) Properties->Logging->Scan Mode.

If the Control Panel (bi-directional controls) are active before you start logging, then EFILive automatically drops to Dynamic mode. It also returns to 10fps if it was in 10fps mode prior to dropping down to dynamic mode.

If you start logging in 10fps mode, then the control panel is disabled until you stop logging. You can press Ctrl+Y to show the profile window that shows the current scan mode and frame rate and time remaining before the log file is full.

    Regards
