Weather permitting, I'm going to give this a try and create a new VE and MAF table to compare against my existing ones to see how close they are.

here's something new I wrote up, to hopefully clarify some issues you guys have been bringing up.

On this end I have completed my work. We successfully created a Calculated Pid that will allow a tuner on one-two logging runs to successfully calibrate the MAF, VE Table, and Trims simultaneously.
It took a while to incorporate charge temperature in the PID, but if you are interested in a simple method that works, I hope to have the final tuning guide online by tomorrow. So far we have gotten a MAF-Closed Loop and SD Closed-Loop with 2% of each other (both VE and Trim values) and WOT AFR.
Thanks for your patience. I hope it helps, especially for beginners.
..Hopefully just these three pids..

So just copy and paste the entire calc pid in the text file?
hmm. I did something wrong when setting up the calc.pid. I received the following error report when opening up the scan tool (not connected to a vehicle). I added the information into the sae.generic file under EFIlive/7.5 on the C drive. Hopefully I didn't screw up too bad. Any tips? Can I just delete the added info?
Error report generated by EFILive at 20:00:39 on Feb 20, 2010
Error code: ERR_CONFIG/92
C:\Program Files\EFILive\V7.5\Configuration\sae_generic.txt(8 88): Units VEpcma not found. .
EFILive Version: 7.5.5 (Build 88)
Platform: Windows XP
Version: 5.1 (build 2600)
Processor type: Pentium 1862MHz
Got it fixed. Forgot to add the units. The Calc VE table is coming up as invalid. I assume that shouldn't be a problem once I connect to the vehicle.
It's okay now. Go figure. I assume I use the newly created Calc VE pid for the Calc VE Map.
I have finalized the "Beginners Guide to Tuning."
