Default Q about mixture menue: Hot PE vs Normal PE table

It is not clear to me when, in the fuel mixture menu, the hot PE table is used. Clicking around it looks like it would be used only above
ECT = 255 F, a condition which never exists unless the engine is way too hot, fans aren't working etc. WHo would be driving above 255 F engine coolant temp in PE mode????

Is this a mistake - it seems to me that the hot PE mode should kick in
maybe around 180-200 F, or even lower.

    Anybody have a clue?

    Thanks

    Gert

Like some other stuff like it's there cause some models use it.I use it on the s/c cars that I do.
I also use piston protection mode.
Basically its to add more fuel as hot engines have a tendency to detonate more easily.
