Default 2002 flash in 2k silverado, blinking battery indicator

I updated my 2000 silverado PCM to a 2002 tune from holden crazy and now after doing the complete reflash the red battery picture in the message center keeps blinking. I know it has nothing to do with the battery or the alternator because there is a volt gauge on this truck.

I have done a complete PCM pinout on both and an alternator part number lookup for both. Everything is the same. That only leaves the dash message center(unless I missed something).

I have yet to change the g1207 table(have read it does not work). It was late. I will post my conclusion.

Made the change to g1207, DID NOT WORK.

    TIA,
    S

If I remember right I had to change the Alternator L terminal to Alternator F terminal under vehicle platforms {G1207} or other way around (sorry can't remember) and under Engine Diagnostics {P1637} & {P1638} I had to set one of them to non-emission & one to not reported... hope this kinda helps...

    Gameover,

Thanks, I took your advice and fixed it by setting it to "not reported" in p1638. I also changed g1207 to "no" under gmt800/ alternator f terminal. I don't know if there are other problems because of that.

Will post if other problems arise due to the hacked fix.

Hacked fix??? It worked for me with no problems at all... If your scared of other problems possibly arising, then try something else...

    Gameover,

I meant no offense, I couldn't figure any better way to eliminate the symptom. Though, the problem still exists. I checked the wiring diagrams, the alternator PN, and the PCM pin out. Everything appears to be equal between the 2000 and 2002. I posted a link to some info on PCM changes to the genIII and others. It indicates that there were internal changes to the PCM that "could" cause problems. This problem might be due to one or more of those internal changes. I doubt the serial connection or the message center caused it.

I will keep aware and post if I ever find out what is different.

    LinearX,

    Thanks for the info,

I don't know how yo found that, I do appreciate it. I'm still trying to find out the engine/PCM/trans. combos for the different years. The factory changes so quickly, I don't know if I ever will. I thought the 99 was different than the 2000-2002. I probably have a left over 99 wiring harness or some BS. With your info, I can check out the REAL pins on the truck and possibly fix "the problem".

    Thanks again for the info,
    S

I found the Gear Chatter link with Google. Google makes me a smarter person.

I think I found the other link here on the EFI forum. We may try it at some point to see if it works.

I had that problem in my s10 when I converted from a vortec box to a 0411, just turned off everything related to the alt f term, since I had no f term wire from the alternator. No more batt light for me...
