    The "fun police" got involved.
Mind you a .22 was rarely used when I used to go out. .222 .308 & occasionally a 12 guage (with 00SG) was the norm.(Everything is deadly over here. The rabbit from the Monty Python film the holy grail was an expat Aussie )

Come on! What would you use given these choices?

    1. A poisoned apple.
    2. A tin of roach spray.
    3. A bolt action .22
    4. Venting 1/2 a bottle of LPG down a warren followed by lit match.....
    5. 6 sticks of geli ( gelignite ) and a joint fuse.
    6. A10 Tank Killer

I know what I'd like to see......

It is believed their population is something like 400 million or more (20x the people population)...

In the 1950's the CSIRO tried poisoning them and most of the poisoned ones survived, they/their offspring still carry the poison...

When my dad took me in his Nissan Patrol out in the desert, we found watering holes were surrounded by a "carpet" of hundreds/thousands of live rabbits... as you drove over them slowly, they parted to let the tires go past, and then closed up behind the tires.

Rabbits have always been out of control, they are not native to Australia, they eat everything... even here in So.Cal. at my work they ate all the lawns, my employer had to install astro-turf.

    That's a wot of wabbits!
In that case dynamite would be the most efficient way to get rid of them
    and the most fun.

I wonder how you guys would get rid of cockroaches.

They got bug bombs, and probably not safe by our standards lol. Ask them how they take care of the camel problem. I just got back from Oz and the big news seemed to be toyota, the camels, and the dude watching porn during the news hahahahaha

The camels were a major problem up till the recent rains. A place called Docker River (an outstation near Ayers Rock) had 100k+ damage done to infrastructure due to the 100s of camels running amok in the area.
Bring in a chopper with a marksman and a highpower rifle. Problem solved.
