I bought and sucessfully installed my v2 with 7.3 software on a desk top PC windows XP 32 bit back in 2007. Then I got my 64 bit Vista laptop and tried about every thing I could find here to get the right USB drivers going and I can't.

To load drivers:
- Connect FlashScan to your laptop.
- Right-click on the ‘My Computer’ icon and select the ‘Manage’ option’.
- In the left hand tree select ‘Device Manager’.
- If the drivers are loaded you should see a device with ‘FlashScan’ in the
name under the ‘Universal Serial Bus controllers’ section. If not it will
be listed as an ‘Unknown Device’.
- If it is shown as ‘Unknown Device’ right-click on the ‘Unknown Device’ and
select the ‘Update Driver Software’ option. The drivers are located in the
‘C:\Program Files\EFILive\Drivers\EFILive\Win-2K-XP-Vista’ folder, so choose
the ‘Browse my computer’ or advanced options and select this location to
search. Don't be tempted to navigate the extra folder level into the 'amd64' folder, which I suspect is what you might be doing.

I was tempted. Story of my life. Thanks for the quick fix.
Also, make sure you are running the latest software. 7.3 is really old, we're on 7.5.6 build 104 now.

Good call. Hadn't noticed the 7.3 reference. If you have a FlashScan v2 device your firmware is going to be horribly out of date also. Before updating the firmware please read fully the 'C:\Program Files (x86)\EFILive\V8\Documents\Upgrading FlashScan.pdf' document.
Ha. That is one of the few times I have been able to leave the (x86) reference in the path from my 64 bit system. Usually remove it to avoid any confusion

i just got a laptop that has a Windows 7 64-bit OS... I followed the above mentioned directions, but i am still getting a Win32 (needs evaluation) 740 error.
I can see in the device manager that EFI Live FSP is installed and working properly, however i can't even install it because of this error.
HELP..
Disregard above post. I installed it using the download from the site. It worked flawlessly.
