you need to make sure all 8 segments match. For instance the corvette and f-cars have different segments for almost everything but the OS.

    Joe, you are absolutely correct.
Steve, you messed me up because I just copy/pasted the OS num in your thread!!

The first part of the OS looked right, didnt pay attention to the last few digits. Whoops.

So it makes a big difference running a Fbody 12212156 OS vs a Vette 12212156 OS? How about the trucks, is there a "truck" 12212156 OS or many flavors of it too? Id like to know for future reference!

I think they're the same as long as the other segments match your vehicle as 1998ws6/Ryan said...

except for ETC... I'm not sure about this.

Well ETC is only for 03+ LS1 PCMs anyway right? So wouldnt have any effect on the 512kb PCMs?

What PCM is it (besides 99+ LS1)? I have an 0411 PCM, Tech2 and TIS 2000 and could flash the tune to it an read it out with EFILive provided the 0411 is compatable.

Interesting, does it use a 1MB PCM? (Is it like everything else, the Vette gets it first?)

I downloaded that file and it is 474KB so it must be a 512KB PCM...

That is GM's model, Corvette gets it first.

Corvette got drive by wire in 1997 using the 98 pcm, and continues to use drive by wire since then.

The 8 segments tell the other data values, OS, Engine Operation, Engine Diagnostics, Transmission, Transmission Diagnostics, Fuel System, System and Speedometer

For instance a stock 2002 automatic f-body may have:

    12212156, 9358576, 9358901, 9358310, 16264429, 16264619, 9373540, 9362080

    Where a manual could be:

    12212156, 9358578, 9358904, 9358250, 16264430, 16264619, 9373542, 9362082

The 12200411 pcm can be used for any 1999-2002 camaro/firebird V8, but is correct service replacement for 2001-2002 cars.
