    Default lower/eliminate TC functions.

    Hello All,
    I'm training on a 2002 5.3 truck
    I have some EFI tuning experience and have had good luck with EFIL on the engine. My intention is to transplant a turbo LS 4l80 into a camaro.

    With that said, I decided to wade into the transmission. I raised 1>2, 2>3, shift pressures to performance levels(all good for the truck). Then I decided to smash the Torque/traction control. That went very badly. I thought it would be interesting to see what the total effect is by eliminating it.

    Take a look, here is the .tun file(don't give it to anyone else ). Let me know what you find. WARNING!, The timing map is NOT to be used on vehicles that tow.

    having posting problems

    Got the trans figured out. It was late when I made the above attachment. I'm not after the kill tune for the truck. Just wanting to become familiar with the settings.

    The camaro trans will have some internal changes. I want to tune the subtle stuff.

    The fuel in the above attachment is not beyond 85% accurate.

    WTH, here is the current cal file. A little clunky in 2>3. Just the Vette timing, towing pressure, stock*.4 TM, no TC,......

    A little KR on the shifts. 87 OT fuel. I'm a CAB

    Before anyone criticizes the VE table here, be aware that I still have problems in bank one. Due to limited pid channels, I have been using bank one for all of my info. Have been fighting KR at the strangest times. I dashboarded the basics of both banks and bank one is going lean at unpredictable times. I had already cleaned the injectors.

    Thought I had better check the fuel filter. First time I ever found this. The divider disk that causes the fuel to go through the filter material was rattling around inside(totally dislodged). I could see straight through it. Last filter change was over 5 years ago. I have no idea what effects this has on the injectors(long term).

    Another impressed tech:
    A Buddy of mine is a full time drivability tech. We argue all of the time about custom EFI systems, theory, and tools. I have been showing him all of the capabilities of of EFIL. Once he decided to quit arguing and start listening, he was amazed how well this system works. He thought his strap-on was the best. Now he is considering buying a v2 scan for the compatible vehicles.

    Some comments (regardless of traction control):
    - set D0960,1,2 to 100% (see here: showthread.php?t=3336),
    - set B3608,9 to zero.

    Your IFR being flat across indicates your FPR is MAP-referenced, is this what you have...?

    Regarding traction control, try either of:
    - do you have a traction control switch on your console...?
    - set B6607,8 both to zero (I would do this one);
    - set B6603 to zero (I think this is how much it pulls from current timing).

    - set B3608,9 to zero. Had considered this previously, took your advice

    - do you have a traction control switch on your console...?no, I don't think the truck processes ANY TC. I can brake torque or spin the tires at will. I won't bother with the steps below.
    - set B6607,8 both to zero (I would do this one);
    - set B6603 to zero (I think this is how much it pulls from current timing).

    Two questions:
    What is involved in TC? ALB, additional switch wiring, ect(for my knowledge)
    OffTopic, Is it "OK" to fail the MAF (SD tuning)with frequency fail?
    Do I set (C2901) to 1 or other value.

    Yes, set C2901 to 1, and C2903 to 1 also.

    When MAF is failed, be aware that:
    - timing defaults to low octane spark table (i.e. sliding between HO and LO tables disables);
    - transmission shift adapt/learning disables;
    - some other things I can't remember...

    Thanks Joe,

    I assume that this is the same whether the MAF is physically unplugged or failed through using flash. Correct?

    You know, the older I get, the more that I should worry about those "some other things I can't remember". They just don't bother me as much as others think they should.

    I suppose age has it's advantages. Now, let me see if I can remember one.

    Yes... i.e. while a MAF DTC is present.
