No, the odometer is a function of the IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster)...
you need a scantool that can access the IPC pids.

I'm wondering now as this one is digital if I go and get another dash would my kms read the new gauge kms?
I know i can see kms since last reset.

The replacement IPC has to be set to your correct kms by a GM dealer or someone who has the same tool.
The ECM stores the odo value when an engine DTC was cleared and and it stores how many kms have elapsed since then... so if you add those two together that should be the kms your IPC should be displaying (if it was working).
Either way, the GM dealer will want to read your old IPC to get the odo.
