    Default New to Forum, Question

I am thinking about purchasing a Flashscan V2. But first, I am in the process of installing a supercharger on my car. The ECM was returned to the company for reprogramming. When they return it to me, will I be able to save their program? What device should I purchase to allow me to do this? Thanks.

As long as they didn't lock it.

You'll need the 'FlashScan V2 Scan and Tune' product if you wish to make changes to the vehicle calibration.

As Justin said, if the tuner locks the tune then you cannot read it off. If they do not, then if you purchase a V2 Scan & Tune you can read their tune off, make appropriate changes, and flash it back to your car.

How will I know if the tuner locked its program? Will I have to use the Flashscan V2 to find out?

Could you ask the tuner if the ECM is locked, or don't you want to approach them? If not then it might just be an unwelcome surprise when you get the product.

Worst case you could always get a new ECM and start from scratch...

Thanks, I will give the tuner a call.
