    Default want to try making a tune, but have some questions though

    i would like to try making a tune for my car, but i'm unsure about everything. i've read the AutoVE tutorial & the Calc.VE tutorial. the Calc.VE tutorial lost me as soon as i got to the Calculated PIDs, as i don't know where to find these or anything. would starting from a stock tune be better than using one of the tunes that i've had done on the car? i have bigger injectors than stock, so if using a stock tune i need to change the IFR to what my current tune has, correct? i've been messing around with my V2 more in the past week than i have in the past 10 months. i want to learn how to do this, mainly for the benefit of being able to make changes to my car as it progresses.

    i also noticed that my AutoVE pids show a bunch of different analog stuff. i have my LC-1 run through the serial port. will this be an issue if i go with the AutoVE. what pids would i no longer need if i'm not using analog?

    For the Calc VE tutorial, here is calc_pids.txt... change the value 5.669 to whatever displacement your motor is (in Liters).

    Copy it to the folder My Documents/EFILive/V7.5/User Configuration.

    Try with your current tune, lets see how i goes.

    Which injectors do you have...?
    Which fuel pressure regulator...?
    Which year/model vehicle...?
    Which mods...?

    Learning to use the tool is a good thing...

    If you're not using analog, then you don't need these pids:
    CALC.AFR_LC11/2
    CALC.BEN_LC11/2

    For serial, you want these pids:
    EXT.WO2AFR1
    EXT.WO2LAM1
    EXT.WO2EQR1
    EXT.WO2ST1

    You can enable the serial pids like this:
    - connect V2 to PC using USB cable,
    - start the V8 Scan&Tune (S&T) software,
    - goto F6: Device Settings,
    - goto tab F6: BBL (Logging),
    - un-check Automatically log analog pids,
    - check Automatically log serial/digital pids,
    - click Save,
    - goto tab F8: Serial I/O,
    - set Comm Port to Wideband,
    - set Wideband to Innovate (LC-1, LM-1, LM-2),
    - click Save,
    - click Program, wait for it to finish programming V2,
    - exit S&T.

    You can setup black box logging using the S&T software:
    - goto F5: Black Box settings,
    - goto Scan Settings tab,
    - create severall pidlists in the blue pane (specify your PCM);

    you can create several pidlists, each one having it's own pids...

    for each pidlist, you can add pids by dragging pids from the yellow pane to the green pane;

    if you automatically enabled serial/digital pids in Device Settings (see previous post), you don't have to mention them in any of the pidlists;

    when done, click Save, and then click Program, wait for V2 to finish being programmed.

    On the Tune Settings tab you can specify your PCM for black box reading and flashing.

    i hope i did this correct. i did not see any value of 5.669 or anything though. i wrote this over what was existing in User Configuration.

    Try with your current tune, lets see how i goes.

    Which injectors do you have...? i have the ford racing 30lb/hr
    Which fuel pressure regulator...? stock in tank
    Which year/model vehicle...? 2002 Pontiac Trans Am
    Which mods...? engine is a stock 2002 LS-1 with a texas speed MS4 (239/242dur, .649/.609 lift, 111.5 lsa, headers, home ported TB, Powerbond pulley, air lid, etc.
