Can't Scan

Just purchased the v2 for my truck. The truck is tuned by a tuner with a ecm tune. I am able to flash the ecm and communicate with the truck but I can not scan. It gives me a message, it tells me "only external and calculated PID's can be logged when connected to the flash scan ONLY

An OBDII must be detected before OBDII PID'S can be logged.

I have followed the steps to proper install and use of the program. Maybe I am goofing something up

Did you click the green connect button (in upper left corner of scantool window)...?

Did you enter your VIN and OS (under the File menu)...?

In the scantool, goto the F6 Console tab and copy/paste what is says.

yes clicked the button and entered info. but didnt go to console tab

Either the PCM is not powered up (key on) or flashscan is the selected controller.

My guess is the flashscan is the controller as u said. How to I switch that?
