Default VE SS commodore Anti theft

Had a car today that would not start, run for a couple of seconds then die, believe anti theft is causing this. The strange thing is flashscan would not show any modules after validating the vehicle. Tried the process of key on, wait ten minutes X 3times to try and reset VATS with no sucess, are the instructions in the software correct stating a restart needs to be applied between each key off,or is it just one initial restart needed.. Can flashscan do a VATS relink on the E38 commodores, are there any Pids to show anti theft. Any help appeciated.

There is a parameter which enables/disables the VATS autolearn, which is probably the process you have tried. Perhaps check that the VATS autolearn is enabled?

FYI... In my E38 calibration the table I'm referring to is G1205.

You do need to initiate the VATS learn still with the scantool, once done then you attempt to start, just the once.
Best thing to do is also change the timer so you don't have to wait 10 minutes. G1215 sets the timer value.

These are the VATS settings from the vehicle, not my car so dont want to use a license just for VATS timer.
Are you talking about the VATS relink in the PCM security tab (little key icon) in the tune tool for the relink.Stupidly remembered this while doing my 13hr shift last night. Doh!!!

not sure what the correct procedure is here,
but I have found with the LS1 pcm's the relink window will be greyed out, but if you "check PCM status" then go back to Vats relink it will let you do it.

Tried VATS relink today on car about ten times, no luck, still would not start. Holdens problem now,but owner said he would let me know what they find.I also had to do the "check PCM status" as well.
