    Default using 2001 Z06 tune on 99 camaro Z28?

OK i know the op systems are different but i planned to use some of the parameters from the stock 06 tune to see how mine changes,

basically i was going to copy across the high and low octane spark tables and the PE modifier vs rpm B3618

I have upped my MAF by about 4% above 7000hz in accordance with a previous LTFT log where the bottom half below 7000hz asked for about this correction (using LTFT BEN) (actually matches Z06 at low freq but above 6000 hz it deviates)

I also noticed that the O2 switch points are higher for the Z06 at about 530mv mine are about 450 mv. (depending on CL mode) would you change these to the Z06 or is this sensor dependant? i dont have a WB yet to check

Basically I have LS6 intake, slp lid CAI and filter and headers with full 3" true duals and de-cat, It is defo running rich as there is quite a bit of black gases when at full throttle, i know the cats would have cleaned this up a bit but its quite carboned up. the current B3618 is 11.7 stock map. I run stock tune other than the MAF corrections.

Could I measure the CO2 or CO content 'old skool' style to check the mixture?

O2 switch points aren't sensor dependent.

You get the rich condition at WOT under control by turning cat protection off and bumping afr up to 12.8 or so. Get a wideband.

11.7 sounds like COTP as SOMhaveit said. You really do need a wideband to see what's going on.

If you do use the LS6 spark tables do pay attention to to knock.

    Can you expand on this:

the Z06 spark table is actually less agressive than the stock 99 one ??

11.7 is just the commanded PE mode, CAT protection is even richer, but thats dissabled now anyway

i know I dont have a wide band but set b3618 to 12.6 im sure my O2 sensors and tune via weatherman shawns tutorial cant but 'that' far out at WOT, plus the o2 are maxed at like 0.950mv, and from what i have read people 'say' that you can expect about 0.9-0.88 mv on a optimum PE mode. But thats internet talk?

I just mean a CO mixture reader, old Krypton tuner thing, what you set carbs up with. The CO content is linked to mixture

personally do you think thats a good course of action?

im getting no knock on the stock tune, just burst or random knock, like the logs i posted before, think they are after gear changes when the engine loads up.
I think the Z06 is better suited to the more optimum PE atio, vs stcok timing with 11.7, my pal has had a dyno tune and the spark table is very similar to the Z06

its getting annoying, my best ET today was 13.1 then i ran a 13.8 after??? and my launch was only 0.08 diff in the 60ft time, it get a bit of knock it air/cyl goes over like 0.02 diff. I might zero this as its not real, there is NO saw tooth pattern

well it seemed to run faster at the track, I GOT MY 12!!!

    best ET 12.97 @ 106.7 mph

I used the torque curve bit of the Z06 sark table upto about 5000 rpm where it flats off then i just increase by a couple of degs, its still 3-4 deg less than stock. Plus I changed the burst knock to only happen if air per cyl is greater change than 0.1 rather than 0.02 , which kept pulling timing but wasn't real knock

thing is I still got some knock in 3rd? like before?? but only some logs?

30/05/10_run4 - stock spark NO knock , just in 3rd?
    31/05/10_run2 - Z06 upper spark w/knock (ran the 12.97)
    31/05/10_run3 - Z06 upper spark no knock

    yeah tunes are below

    BEFORE: is 0009

    AFTER: is 0011

in the logs it seems to run 23 deg all the way from 3600-5000 then ramps a bit, doesn't actually feel as faster but if you mesure second gear time in the log its like 0.6 sec less than before. Must like 23 deg??

I had done a weatherman shawn method calcVE on these files too, but before the headers as I was more confident in O2 switch points then, not sure now. Need WB to get any further, maybe next month
