Default 0411 controlling the fans issue...

I have the 0411 with custom OS and I want it to run the fan in my dragster so I hooked up a relay to fan1. When the engine is running it controls the fan just fine but the trouble is I cant get it to run the fan after I shut down the engine.

I changed G1203 to the different options, G0909 and G0910 but I could never get it to control the fans once the engine was turned off.

Also, really annoying issue.... when the fan turns on when the engine is running it will flare up big time, it actually startles me when it happens and could be dangerous when in gear. I set B4301 and B4302 IAC correction to 0 with no effect. Is there anywhere else I can change that would stop this from happening?

    Thanks,

    Lee

I just played around with this myself last night.

I observed that if the engine is restarted while the temp is already at the point where the fan is on ... it seems to have to run for a certain amount of time for teh 'run-on' to be activiated. For instance, if you start the motor, the fan comes on and you stop the motor all within a small window of time (seconds), the run-on does not seem to work. It seems that the motor must run for a minute or two for this run-on to kick in.

i don't have my tune available at the moment, but from memory I think my settings were similar to:
    G0901 - Fan 1 turn on temp - 190 deg. F
    G0902 - Fan 1 turn off temp - 180 deg. F
    G0909 - Fan 1 run on temp - 200 deg. F
    G0910 - Fan 1 run on time - 20 seconds
