Default 1w, 2w, 3w, or 4w? How do you tell the difference?

I'm trying to come up with an ABS XML file for my car and I'm not sure what the number in front of the W stands for. Is it related to when the car was built or something? How can I tell which one I should use for my car.

My car is a 1994 Buick Regal GS

What "W" are you referring to?

There's the index which tells you which file to use to write the xml file for your car. The index lists each file and under the name for the file it tells what it's used for. Most of them list under it the engine, the engine vin, the year of the car, and the body type for the car. Some of them list a number in front of the body type.

for the abs file I'm trying to write one lists a 1994 1W, and there's another file for 1994 2, 3, and 4W cars.

I'm pretty sure the 1W, 2W etc are specified in the 3rd/4th digits of the VIN. I.e. the last part of the manufacturer's code and the car line. That's just what I assume, I could be wrong.

A '1' in the 3rd position is a Chevrolet vehicle.
A '2' in the 3rd position is a Pontiac vehicle.
A '3' in the 3rd position is an Oldsmobile vehicle.
A '4' in the 3rd position is a Buick vehicle.
