    Default Rafig log

I need help setting up my desired airflow. I must be doing something wrong setting up the map. When I look at the data page it makes sense, but when I set up a MAP I get crazy #'s ranging from, 490 at 32C to 1382 at 92C. Yet looking at the data it looks like at most of my warm areas I need to subtract about 1.5.

Confused, hoping I just set up the map wrong, can anyone look at this log and tune? The only thing I'd like to change is DAF. I'll take any suggestions on tune but want to start with desired airflow before anything else.

The car runs fairly well with good stationary start up idle, stalls on decel. Car is recently converted to M6, has 2002 M6 OS

It has a NW 90 TB that is drilled if that makes any difference. I chose to drill rather than use set screw to get IAC counts down. The intake and TB was on another combo before swapping to this so the hole was already done for another set up.

I don't know what you did on your log... I usually keep all my Pids Metric (g/s) and make sure my Tune Tool is in the same unit(s). That includes ECT, etc. Otherwise you get 'bizarre' results.

Well here is something to ponder. I unofficially call it MAF RAFIG. Anecdotally I have noticed that in a highly tuned car the MAF Airflow vs ECT will be very similar to the RAFIG results. Makes sense. With +/- Zero Trims..it should match.

Anyway, plotting your MAF Airflow against ECT gave me the following results:

Just check it against your Desired Air..Should be close.

Yeah I don't know what the heck I was doing wrong...certainly was overlooking some of the smaller details trying to do this.I appreciate the help, you've helped me before. Having this I can now work on dialing in cracker. From the log I was running too much air, and I think the cracker was adding too much before transition to idle, hopefully having the DAF closer and dialing down the cracker my decel stall will be a thing of the past. I think I was throwing to much air at it via cracker, already having a little to much in DAF table.

I hate to be ignorant, but I still can't duplicate the map data as you did from my log, can you tell me what data, row and column selections you made? I'm clearly missing something here, embarrassed to ask but I've played with this trying to duplicate the map and I'm definately lacking something lol

I thought the data was CALC.RAFIG, Column was Idle Airflow Correction, AC Off, In Gear (Grams/sec), and row ECT C ?

I can't say thanks enough for helping with this key piece of the puzzle!!!!!

No need to apologize. I wish I could explain the computer skills (MAP,PIDS,etc) and how you apply them to the Scan & Tune Tools a lot better.

In your case, I could not duplicate the 'true' RAFIG. I don't know if it is a unit problem or whatever.. What I did in place was plot MAF Airflow (g/s) against ECT. I think I originally created my own map..but try that.

If not I am sure we can get one of the more Scan & Tune experts to help us out. All I know is that MAF Airflow and RAFIG will be very similar if done correctly. If I recall RAFIG is simply applying a Short and Llong-term Idle air correction to your existing Desired Airflow. In this case I am applying it toward the known MAF Airflow.

I don't know if that long explanation helps. Short answer is try what I did, and if that does not work we will get some further technical assistance.

It seem to me that when you're viewing the map, it is showing cell counts (the button 'n')'; click the button 'x' (x with a bar over it)...

see the button circled in green in the attached pic...

Your RAFIG values are highly negative, add them to {B3407}.

Thanks guys! Just getting back into this after the long weekend.

Joecar, thanks, I was overlooking that.

Mr Prick, one question, I thought that after looking at that map of the log I should make those the values for the DAF? For instance, at 80C, my current tune was at 10.612, the map shows MAF average of 9.71 at 80C, wouldn't I want plug that into the DAF at 80C so they match? Or am I taking the map that Weatherman made from my log and misunderstanding where or how to apply it to the tune?

I think once you set me straight on this the light bulb will go off in my head. I may be overthinking some of this....

RAFIG is normally a correction to your Desired Airflow. So usually you just add or subtract those values directly from your existing airflow.

What I did was slightly unorthodox. I am just using your Idle MAF flow as ECT warms up. I have found it pretty close to doing RAFIG.

OP, you can use those values as they are..if they are close to your original Desired Airflow.

What Mr. Prick is talking about is correct. In a normal RAFIG you add or subtract.

    So here are your choices.

    1. Use MAF Airflow as your Desired Airflow.
    2. Repeat RAGIG and compare those values.

I gave you #1 as a shortcut, since it looked like you were having problems doing RAFIG..
