Efi live does not recognize os

Hi trying to write to my pcm. My truck is a 1998 S10 4 cyl. Efi live does not recognize my os. Then it could not retrieve the pcm serial number. Also it is coming up as a 1997 camaro. Ive included a screenshot. What am I doing wrong? thanks keithAttachment 8422

we can read the pcm. also when we hooked up scan tool the os # that came up was 9356824 not the 19970100 that i showed in my screen shot.

Which PCM is in your S10...?

Where did you get the 19970100 file from...?

What happens if you try to write back to the PCM the 9356824 file that was read from the PCM...?

hi joecar my pcm is 16228016 I got the file from efi live when I read the pcm I guess lol. Not sure what you mean. thanks

Are you able to read the PCM OK? IF so what OS does it show in the calibration?

Is your software and FlashScan V2 firmware up to date? As at time of this post the latest versions are:
- 7.5.6 Build 117
- 8.1.2 Build 97
- FlashScan V2 firmware 2.06.35

it appears efi live cant read my pcm when we are trying to write. It says its generating an os number based on my vin witch it says is a 1997 camaro. it is indicating an os number 19970100

The read and write operations are distinctly different. What I was wanting to clarify is; are you able to select the correct controller type and perform a read (upload) operation on your PCM?

hi tordne, we did not install 8.1.2 build 97, because I thought it was for black box logging etc that we were not going to use at this time. Is it neccesary to load version 8.1.2 build 97. but we installed the others you listed. And yes we were able to read the pcm with the correct os number.
