What you're seeing in the right-hand column of the upgrade screen is what will be on the V2 device (license wise) after the upgrade is performed given your selections.

There are two distinct operations you need to consider:
    - Copy licenses: This will copy the used PCM licenses across to the V2 device so you can continue to tune those already licensed controllers on the V2 interface (you can see in the right-hand column that your licensed controller is shown). You would definitely leave this option selected.
    - Move licenses: This will move the unused licenses from your V1 device across to your V2 (so you'll end up with one used and 3 available licenses (as shown). The consideration for you is this; if you want to sell the V1 device you need to leave at least one unused PCM license for the next owner. This is because EFILive no longer issues PCM licenses to the V1 device serial number. If you do intend selling the device you need to disclose that limitation to the buyer. Additionally they will not be able to upgrade to FlashScan v2 using the save V1 (that is a one time discount offered per V1 interface which you have already used).

    Hope that helps...

    Cheers,
    Andrew

The "V2 upgrade" copies the serial number from your V1 to your V2's license number, that is the part that MUST be done before you can use the V2.
The transfer of the VIN licenses is also done at the same time. You can choose to transfer all, some or none of the V1 licenses to the V2.

In the image you have posted...
Before the upgrade you have 1 used license on V1 and 1 available ECM/TCM license on V1.
After the upgrade, you'll have 1 used license on V2 and 3 available ECM licenses on V2 and 4 available TCM licenses on V2.
The previously available license on V1 will be tagged as "(02)->V2" which means it can no longer be used on the V1 since it will be transferred to your V2.

    Paul

ok thanks, i was just wondering why in the ecm column it shows 3 available, but 4 available for the tcm side...but the v2 does vin licencing.

any idea on the going rate for an upgraded v1 commercial with one licence left?

    thanks, Greg

    On V1: 1 license = 1 PCM
    On V2: 1 license = 1 PCM/ECM + 1 TCM
