2008 Silverado 5.3 Bootloader Rejected

Tried many times over the past few weeks. Updated Efi live and still no go. Done some searching but all diesel related. Tried alt keys but still no go. Wont unlock pcm. I know its something I'm doing, just need some advice.

No expert here. Some one will help you out. Im not sure if its the same kind of problem as not being able to recognize the os number. But did you try pulling fuses. There are related threads to yours on the forum did you see them?

What controller are you selecting when performing the read operation (assuming not flashing)? I would expect the selection would need to be E38, and this requires the FlashScan V2 interface (for CAN communications).

I have been selecting the e67. When I check status it said ok on e67 and not ok on e38.

Can you email me (support@efilive.com) the full VIN for the vehicle? I can then tell you absolutely what ECM type it is.

Based on the VIN it is most definitely an E38. Are you able the get details by going to the 'Flash->Show PCM Info' menu option in the Tune Tool (selecting E38 controller type)?
