    Default COS on jetboat

    Hey there, new to tuning LS1's. Have got an twin turbo LS1 powered jetboat in my shop. I have removed MAF sensor, and fitted a 3 bar MAP sensor. I want to upgrade ECU to OS5 to handle fuel/spark under boosted conditions.

    Question is this : Do I just reflash ecu with the OS5 version based on the original OS number ? Reason I ask is because obviously engine has no transmission fitted now so is there a better OS to base OS5 on?

    Also what happens to OS when changing LS1 vehicles from manual to auto or vice versa?

    COS5/02020005 is based on 12212156...

    In your case the best 12212156 file to use would be the 2002 Camaro manual transmission file (you have mechanical cable operated throttle, right...?).

    Copy your current tables to the 12212156 file (table-by-table, use copy-with-labels and paste-with-labels, take your time, get it right).

    Then full flash in the 12212156 file and make sure engine runs correctly (doing this now this saves you debugging later).

    Then full flash in 02020005, and then cal-only flash from the 12212156 file, and then read back the PCM and save to file.

    COS5 is only available for stock operating systems 12212156 (2002 Camaro/Corvette) and 12225074 (2002 Holden). So I'd say you'll be using 12212156 as the base OS for your application.

    With the Manual calibration that vehicle is pretty much assumed to be "in Gear" which is probably what you want.

    3 bar sensor !! must be a pretty stout ls1 to run 15 psi boost plus.

    I recently tried a 3.3 bar sensor and nothing but trouble with it, went back to a 2 bar sensor.

    COS 5 is the way to go , find the tutorial on COS and you will be able to work out what os number to use based on the current PCM operating system.
    I'm picking you will want to flash a manual calibration into the oprating system for a jetboat setup.

    The operating system will be the same for auto or manual, you will just flash the approprate calibration into it.
