    Default Can I tune a 2002 2.2l s10 with my v1 scan and tune

I looked throught the list of compatible vehicles for my v1 and it show a 2.2l s10 ending with 2000 but says I can tune up to a 2002 cavalier. What is the difference seeing as the engine is the same. Or is it a misprint?

    Thanks

    Hello wadesns,

My memory didn’t serve me well on a similar question a few weeks ago, so this time I checked !

If you are looking at the S-4CYLA PCM supported list …. ’97-’02 2.2 L Cavaliers are supported, as are ’97-’00 2.2 L S10 / Sonoma - but not for the V1, only for the V2.

The ’97-’00 2.2 L Cavalier and S10 models have a common PCM. In 2001 the 2.2 L S10 got its own PCM - with no interchange that I’m aware of (only used in S10). The PCM from 2.2L S10 from ’01-’03 will probably bear service number (Serv#) 12202203.

Your V1 is incompatible with the S-4CYLA PCMs, and ’01 and newer 2.2 L S10 are not supported at all.

Not what you wanted to hear …….

    Regards,
    Taz

Do an 0411 PCM swap and use your V1 to tune it as a LS1-style engine instead!

Erik, I thought a 0411 pcm could not be used on a four cylinder. Or am I missing something really obvious with what your saying? Thanks

Hmmm I might have been thinking about a V6 conversion instead of a 4 cylinder... I dont think any 4 bangers used the LS1 PCM so now that I think about it, dont think its an easy possibility. Im going to assume the 4cyls use the same 7x crank reluctor as the 4.2L I6 P10 in the TrailBlazers, wonder if you could do a crank swap and get a 58x reluctor and use an E67 or E37?
