Default E38 ECM asking to be relicensed

    Ok,

I have previously flashed this vehicle 6 or so times today and 4 or 5 times previously. I went inside charged up the laptop made some changes to the .tun.

Come back out to the car and now it is asking me to licence the ECM but was done over a month ago.

    Any ideas???

    Cheers
    Nigel

Have you tried completely shutting down the laptop? I have seen this happen once and before sheer panic set in I had the presence of mind to re-start and no more worries.

    Doc, thanks for the reply.

Yes, I disconnected the V2 from the laptop and car, did not shut the laptop down but this solved the problem.

Is there any other reason though for this or is it just one of those things.

    Cheers

One of those things. Seems things get a little out of synch at times. I usually just unplug the V2 unit from car and USB, turn the ignition off and then plug it all back in again.

Needless to say you should not need to reset everything, if it's happening all the time then there is issues.
