Does anybody know what test can be done on an LSI to determine if the vats are active or not without a tuning tool to look at the program settings.
thanks in advance

Log the State PID for VATS.
The setting in the PCM won't disable VATS completely in a lot of the LS1 vehicles anyways.
This is especially true with the Fbody as the BCM controls the starter relay.

Thanks for the response, I believe with the Australian Holden vats being serial when turned off it does completely disable the vats. Log the State PID for VATS is fine if you have a scan tool I was interested to know if you can check if the vats are active without a tune/scan tool.
