    Default Dyno tune '04 Z06 w/Magnuson & .2 undersize pulley...

OK so the title says it all. There's a guy in town who has a pretty good rep and says he can do a custom dyno tune:

    http://www.tecrepairservices.com/koppmotorsports.html

Only problem is he uses the HP Tuner VCM. Now, can I convert a HP tune to EFI v2 when he gets done? I found a few relevant threads on this forum ie.,

    http://forum.efilive.com/showthread.php?14941-Reading-an-HPT-tune

    http://forum.efilive.com/showthread.php?11649-main-differences-from-hpt-to-efi-live

    http://forum.efilive.com/showthread.php?15213-EFI-LIVE-Tables-vs-HPT-Tables

    From the last thread:
"There is a table conversion tool in the tune.exe

Copy and paste with labels to create a new table then transpose the table.
Paste the table data from HPT in the new table and
transpose it once more to copy and paste to the EFILive table."

Is this table conversion equivalent to a complete scan & copy of the whole tuning profile? I need to get a copy of it into my computer so I can swap the undersize S/C pulley and tune profile for drag strip use and back when it's time for the smog check .

If he doesnt use a HPT custom operating system or lock your pcm you can just down load the tune with EFI.

    What Lorenz said...

...you should be able to read it using the EFLive interface/software (if not COS or locked).

I just got done downloading all EFI V2 documentation to my new Mac Book Pro, which is a superior machine and OS as compared to a PC with Windows 7. Unfortunately, I don't think EFI will run on a Mac. However, there is software called parallels which runs PC programs on a Mac. Probably would be a disasterous experiment. Parallels is a dual boot config for Macintosh. I have successfully used dual booting on my Compaq desktop i.e., Windows XP and Windows 98 with Paragon Boot Manager. Anyway, enough speculation unless there's someone out there that has tried this, and wants to confess.

I don't have enough time to read the EFI manuals and tutorials. Anyone with a six figure income knows how busy life gets - no room for a hobby like tryin' to go 200 MPH. That's why I was going to have it done by Mr Kopp, but he says the rods in my LS6 are maxed out @ 500 RWHP. I should have him put in a set of Lunati's, a carbon fiber clutch and Nitto rear tires which he recommends. Wonder how much all that would cost. Good night.

    hegwig,

Parallels and Fusion allow you to run WinXP on a virtual machine running on Mac OSX.

If you already have a native mode WinXP boot image (which you don't yet), Parallels and Fusion will allow you to run that on the virtual machine.

I have run EFILive software on Fusion, and I was able to flash my PCM without any trouble.

However, due to the virtual machine, there are various layers of software which slow things down a little; also, the virtual machine can sometimes crash (I've had this happen while running other WinXP software).

Try Boot Camp (it's free), it allows you to selectively boot Mac OSX or WinXP in native mode (i.e. not on a virtual machine); it partitions the hard disk and creates a native mode WinXP image on one partition (and leaves Mac OSX on the other partition). This is how I prefer to run the EFILive software (on native mode WinXP booted via Boot Camp).
