    Default Hi all

Just got my V2 this evening.
Looking forward to getting into the real nuts and bolts of the computer. I've got a 98 GM K3500 that's going to be getting some working over during the next couple of months.

    Welcome man!

Look into a 0411 LS1 PCM swap if you plan on doing much to your truck, the LS1 PCM is much more capable than the 98-00 Vortec black box and is better in every single way. Ability to run a custom OS (for boost or nitrous), higher table resolution (better driveability, smoother power), and it is easy and cheap to do. Most people can find one of these PCMs in a junkyard with the connectors for less than $100, the wires pop out of the old connectors and go right into the new ones.

I've thought about the 0411 upgrade, but I'm not entirely certain it'd be worth it for me. The truck really only gets maybe 5k miles/yr. Maybe if I find a particularly good deal on one. I've got the pinout file already, so if that deal comes along I'm pretty much ready to go.

Gotcha, I was thinking you could save a license if you did an 0411 swap first then licensed that PCM instead of that one and the Vortec black box one. Happy tuning!
