    Default Cable licenses

Hello everyone I am new here and very new to EFI live! I am or was recalibrating my speedo for larer tires and rims I just put on. I was doing good and things were working until the input for the tire size I put in was too slow and I tried to go baqck in and adjust it. It said that there were no more licenses for the cable I am using. I am so green with this and I thought that the vin# of the truck would be registered to my EFI live and I could make all the changes to this vin I want, or am I doing something wrong and how do I fix this?

Licensing is actually done against the controller (ECM/TCM) serial number and not the actual vehicle VIN. If the ECM has not been changed then you should not need to allocate an additional license to continue tuning.

Can you please email me (support@efilive.com) the following:
Can you please provide the following details:
    1. Software version used.
    2. Firmware version used.
    3. A license backup:
    a. With FlashScan V2 connected go to the ‘Help->FlashScan V2 / AutoCal V2 VIN Licensing’ menu option in the tune tool.
    b. Click the ‘Backup’ button.
    c. Email the file it creates: Will be ‘C:\Program Files\EFILive\V7.5\<FlashScan SN>.lbu’.
    4. A screenshot of the Get PC Info screen of the vehicle you’re tuning:
    a. Connect to vehicle and go to the ‘Flash->Show PCM Info’ menu option in the tune tool.
    b. Select the correct controller type and click the ‘Get Info’ button.

    Cheers,

You should only need to license a controller once. The license is linked to the controller, not the vehicle, so if you change controllers you would need to re-license the new controller.
What sort of vehicle/controller are you working on?

Can you take a screen shot of the following window in the EFILive V7 Tune Tool software:
Help->FlashScan V2 / AutoCal V2 VIN licensing and send it to me at paul@efilive.com

The values listed in that screen shot correspond to the last 9 digits of the controllers' serial numbers to which they have been registered.
You can obtain a controller's serial number using the menu option: Flash->Show PCM info...

You should be able to match up the serial numbers from the controller with the serial numbers from the VIN license screen.

    Regards
    Paul
