Question Is it possible to put the LS7 and 6L80E together

Hi, I'm new to the E38 ECM world, i'm use to the old 411 pcm's. I was wondering if it is possible to put an LS7 from a vette with the 6L80E tranny. As far as i know the ls7 never had an auto behind it. How would one start with setting up the ECM to talk to the TCM. Its not like the 411 pcm's were i could just swap segments. Like i said i'm new to this so bare with me

Yes, it is possible... the 6L90 might be better.

Thanks for the info, i did a quick read on the forum taz posted, but didn't find a lot of info on how they made the ECM and TCM talk to each other, all i saw was they did it with EFI live. They focus more on making it fit in the car. I will read them in more detail later and see if i missed something. Any more info would be much appreciated.

The A6 transmission (6L80 / 6L90) uses a T43 TCM, and was originally installed in Gen IV vehicles with E38 and E67 ECMs. I have never done an LS7 / A6 conversion - my understanding is that you would begin with a "matched" set of ECM / TCM tunes (E38 / T43 or E67 / T43) and develop a custom tune from this starting point of known compatibility.

I kinda thought that would be the road i would have to travel. I guess i was hoping someone found a way to use the LS7 file and just edit it to have an automatic instead of the manual. LOL I wish my customers would bring me something simple once and a while.

This is not my area of expertise .... I know 2007 Corvettes with the E38 ECM used the same OS for the LS7 with a manual trans, and for the LS2 with a manual or A6 trans. Not sure how many other OS compatibility instances exist for the LS7.

The ECM uses OS 12614676, and the TCM uses OS 24239353.
