Default Can I use the stock 1 bar MAP w/centrifugal S/C '0411 tune?

I've got a '96 4.3 V6 w/'0411 PCM and marine manifold w/36# injectors running and just installed the P1S/C. I'm starting out w/5# (only have a 4.10 pulley) because that is what it is making now! Can I use the stock 1 bar or do I need to get a 2 bar MAP? I won't be looking for more than 10#...and I am looking for smaller pulleys too if anyone has one for sale. I'm working on setting up a COS5. Thanks!

    Good times!

2Bar MAP hands down, once you get into boost you'll have no control over boost fueling if you keep a 1 Bar MAP.

Use a 2Bar MAP with COS5 and you're set, just make sure you dont run out of injector.

Thanks Eric! I like Blazers too! Mine is a '91 4dr 4x4 w/2002 disc brakes ft & rear, front coil over conversion and 700r4. I guess I should sig all that eventually.

    Good times!

I'm still running a 1-bar map in the D1SC car...but it's also got a vacuum referenced FPR. Because the centrifugal superchargers build boost in a linear fashion, it really isn't too big of a deal. Adjustments to PE will be adequate.

Yes I have heard that the 1 bar will work, and I changed the manifold of course to get the "luxury" of higher output injectors and am not using the FPR intended to be used with the original vortec based kit. For $44 a 2 bar on ebay with a connector is a pretty painless way to go, however not completely painless....still $44 bucks more!!! Thats 10 gallons of gas...(sick)!

    Thanks,

Ah I see, they do build boost linearly so you could get away with a 1 Bar. I feel your pain, filled up my TBSS yesterday with 20.25 gal of premium, even in Spokane it was 4.109 /gal. Like $83.xx, ouch.

If you're using a vacuum refererenced FPR like SSpdDmon is, you can get away with it. My rational is $44 plus a little time is cheap if it keeps the motor intact in the long run.

I do have a FPR (my engine is injected!), I was thinking the FMU which I ditched. I might be missing something with you SSpdDmon? Anyway I think the 2 bar will be the way for me to go w/COS5!

    Thanks and Good times!!
