Thumbs up New E83 ECM Support, testers needed.

    Hi all,

We are looking for some people to test the soon to be added support for the E83 ECM.
The E83 (Service #12636386) is being phased in as the small/compact car ECM that we expect will eventually replace the E37.
It's useage is quite small at the moment, with just the vehicles below being covered.

    2011-2012 Chev Cruze 1.8L (LUW)
    2009-2011 Chev Aveo 1.6L (LXV)
    2009-2010 Pontiac G3 1.6L (LXV)

For the 2012 models we expect the new Chev Sonic to be using the E83 as well (and the E78 on the 1.4L Turbo). This car is based on GM's Gamma II platform which is the replacement for the Aveo.

If you have access to any of those vehicles we just need some basic testing done, we've already bench tested reading, flashing and scanning. The mapping is almost complete for the OS's we had in the ECM's we got to develop with. Even if you can just get a read from the ECM that would be of great assistance.

Please send me a PM if you are interested.

    Cheers,
    Ross

Interesting E83 story. I have a car that only starts on the second attempt, the gauges on the IPC shake when it doesn't start, the IPC intermittently doesn't work (all gauges drop for a long time) and has codes for device voltage above threshold. As I was doing research I found that the ECMs are restricted and you have to call tech assistance and answer a bunch of questions and then call another # to order a restricted E83. When I called techline they want me to put every part except the ECM in the car. They already tried a new IPC because it is the Power Mode Master (no BCM), and when that didn't fix it (much less program right), now they want an ignition switch because it wakes up the IPC. I already put a new battery in it because it failed testing and generator output is normal. I'll laugh if in the end the ECM fixes it. Anyways, I read and e-mailed the original E83 file, then flashed the newest update and saved / e-mailed that as well.
